Bagaduce Music at the North Atlantic Song Convention








This convention was a lot about discovering similarities and differences between the traditions of singing cultures on the North Atlantic rim - and doing so over heaping piles of Haggis.
It also ended up being about sharing the glories and challenges of running small music organizations and cultural revivals in areas much like Maine. In the face of a firehose of homogenous industrial/digital culture, singers from Sweden, Norway, Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Iceland, and Maine - and cultural groups within those areas such as Romani singers - shared songs, stories, and practical advice on singing with a sense of place.
